instructions
cast on 25 stitches using the long tail cast on method. leave a 10-inch/25-cm tail to use for seaming later.
repeat for 66 rows total:
row 1 - knit
row 2 - purl
switch color
make sure your last 2 rows are the same color as your first two rows.
cast off, leaving a 25-inch/63-cm tail to use for seaming later.
using the cast on tail, seam the two short ends together using the horizontal invisible seam technique.
turn the scrunchie wrong side out and place the hair elastic around it. fold scrunchie over so the long sides are touching and the right side is out, with the hair elastic encased inside.
using the cast off tail, seam the long edges together using a vertical invisible seam. pro tip! instead of weaving all the scrappy ends in, just tuck them inside the scrunchie as you seam;)
cut yarn and weave seaming end in to finish.
the scrunchie can be worn as is, or move it around the elastic so the seam is on the inside instead of the outer edge.
