instructions

creating the bow

cast on 2-5 stitches and i-cord for 45 inches/114 cm OR make a crochet chain that measures 45 inches/114 cm (optional: crochet multiple chains and braid them together for a thicker bow)

creating the scrunchie

cast on 35 stitches

row 1 - knit

row 2 - purl

repeat rows 1 & 2 four more times (10 rows total of stockinette stitch)

keeping stitches on the needle, lay the knit piece right side down. lay the bow piece across the scrunchie band and fold the cast on edge over to match up with the live stitches.

the right side of the scrunchie band should now be out, with the bow piece encased in the fabric.

(optional: change colors here)

knit 2 stitches together across the row (knit through both the stitch on your needle and the corresponding stitch on the cast on edge) this will create a tube encasing the bow.

creating the frill

row 1 - purl

row 2 - knit through the front and back of each stitch (KFB)

row 3 - purl

row 4 - knit through the front and back of each stitch (KFB)

cast off with the following method:

purl 2, cast 1 stitch off, repeat (yarn over, cast 1 stitch off, purl 1, cast 1 stitch off) to the end of the row.
