chain 24 stitches in color 1

starting with the second stitch from the hook, repeat (single crochet, chain 1 and skip 1 chain) across row. change to color 2 on the last move of the last single crochet in the row. chain 2 and turn.

row 1

repeat across the row:

  1. double crochet 3 together in next chain space: repeat (yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops) 3 times, then yarn over and pull through all remaining loops on your hook

  2. chain 1

to finish the row, work 1 double crochet into the last single crochet. switch to color 1 in the last move of this double crochet. chain 1 and turn.

(you should have created 11 clusters)

row 2

single crochet into the double crochet stitch that ended the last row.

repeat across the row:

  1. chain 1 and skip over cluster

  2. single crochet into space between clusters

to finish the row, work 1 single crochet into the top of the last chain. switch to color 2 in the last move of this single crochet. chain 2 and turn.

scarf

continue alternating rows 1 and 2 a further 69 times (for 70 total cluster rows) or until your scarf reaches your desired length.

fasten off.

border

weave in ends or follow the method in the video tutorial to hide them within the border.

attach color 3 and make a single crochet border around the entire scarf: make 2 single crochets in each cluster row (row 1) and make 1 single crochet in each single crochet row (row 2).
