technique

you will hold two strands of yarn together throughout the pattern, switching between colors to create the checked pattern. throughout the pattern, use intarsia technique to cross colors over each other every time you change to a different color. this ensures that there are no holes between each color change.

colors A, B & C run the entire length of the scarf. colors D, E & F run horizontally and are alternated along the length of the scarf.

reading the pattern

throughout the pattern, you will be dropping and picking up different
colored strands of yarn. color names in parentheses indicate which strands to be using for each instruction. for example “(A & D) k10” indicates that holding colors A & D together, you should knit 10 sts.
